Leicester 2 vs Huncote

The match started well with Tom Paton picking up a good 3-0 victory over Richard Roper. Paton blasted the Huncote player off the court winning 9-2, 9-0, 9-2. Meanwhile on the other court Pete Wheat started well winning the opening matches 9-2 and 9-6. Jones then came back winning the next two 9-7 and 9-3, however Wheats fitness came to the fore with him taking the last game 9-6. Next on court was Steve Avil at number 2. This week Avil found his form, with his newly strung racket (thanks Kev!) taking the match 9-4, 9-2, 9-0.

The final games saw Melvin Crane playing Nimesh Patel at number 3, and Mike Turney playing the up and coming youngster Callum Greasley. Crane and Patel battled hard swapping the opening 4 games before Patel's slightly better fitness, (and Crane's dodgey hip!) saw him come out on top. In Turney's game, the older and more canny player dominated the game against an opponent he tells us his son has difficulties against, winning convincingly 9-1, 9-3, 9-4.

So a great win with 19 points towards the cause obtained!
