Northants 2nd Team beat Dallington 4s by 4 rubbers to one at MHSRC on wednesday evening.

Kean Williams at 5, got the tie off to the best possible start with a straight games win over Sarah Wilkinson, losing just 7 points in the process.

Meanwhile Tim Arthur at 4 also won in straight games against Nick Young, who was making his debut for Dallington - Tim was always in control, however Nick's never say die attitude mean that the third was won by Tim 10/8.

Peter Rhodes at 3, continued the team's form with a win over Vicky Clarke, dropping just 3 points to ensure the extra 3 points for the win.

Ian Shirley got his first win of the season with a straight games victory over David Graham at 2.

This left the game of the night between Earl Harrison and Tim Dunkley at 1. Tim was always ahead 1-0, 2-1, but Earl dug in to set up a fifth game. Earl started well and gained a commanding lead - however with Earl needing just one point for victory, Tim dug in and point by point, managed to fight back to 8-8. Calling set 2, the game and match went to Tim with Earl exhausted.

Once again, thanks to Sandy - our 6th player - the food going down a storm with all.

Dallington were a very social team and we look forward to the return after Christmas.
