Another fine win for Northants 2nd Team at home on wednesday evening - match report posted on behalf of Ian Shirley.

Andy Fraser went on first at no 4 against Peter Crouch (Ed - bet he was difficult to lob !). Ian Shirley at no 2 then went on the other court to break his run of poor form with a 3-0 win against Mark Linieres followed by Peter Rhodes at no 3 easily overcoming Simon Hughes also 3-0.

Meanwhile Andy and Peter's game was turning into an epic. Andy won the first but lost the second after a frustrating double hit call controversy at 8-9 and then proceeded to go 1-2 down. Not to be outdone, Andy fought back doggedly to 2-2 and then final overcame his opponent in 5 games.

Ruth was disappointed by her performance at no 5, losing easily to Stewart Millwood whose excellent court coverage, volleys and touch drop shots did much to suggest he may have been ranked harshly. Nick Crossley finished the evening with another easy 3-0 win against Martin Sawyer..
