Saturday saw 6 adults and 11 junior members from Market Harborough Squash Club take on a selection of players from a squash club based at the National Squash Centre and juniors from the Academy based there. The challenge was arranged by Harborough's Steve Avil and Vicky Botwright (recently retired World number 5 and Head Coach at the Centre). All players were given the opportunity to play one match on the all glass show court recently used in the British and World Open Tournaments. Players also played further games some of the other glass backed courts at the centre.

There were mixed results but notable victories were had by County Over 35 Champion. Martin Geear, and up and coming youngster, Jack Turney who won both his games against Academy juniors. Overall Manchester came out on top but Harborough hope to make a return visit and perform better having now sampled playing on this very different court. Also some lucky members were able to play against Australian Stewart Boswell, currently World number 16.

All the players enjoyed the day and their experience of playing on a glass show court and the hospitality of Manchester City Council who provided refreshments for the day.
